Sins is deadly, as it destroys our union with God, but Jesus loved us enough to pay the price for our sins and restore us to Him.

How NOT to read the Bible!
Here is a talk I gave at St. Denis Parish as part of our Lenten discussion series. I did not have anyone on hand to tend to the camera and move it with the action of the talk, so I apologize that every once in a while I end up walking out of the picture. I hope you appreciate this discussion.
A Sinner repents; are you overjoyed or annoyed?
When a sinner returns to the Lord, do we rejoice for his salvation or get annoyed that he’s “getting away with sinning and still being saved?”
Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?
We often think we’re being punished by God when bad things happen to us, or we pray for God to destroy evildoers. But God has a better plan!
Transfiguration: our desire and our destiny!
By turning away from sin and reaching out to others, we are transfigured now in little ways and will be completely when Jesus returns.
Reject the lies that tear you away from Christ!
Lent is the time for us to acknowledge that Satan lies to us to try to tear us away from Jesus. Reject his lies and say yes to Christ.
Don’t be a hypocrite! Admit you have sinned.
We cannot change the world if we don’t first change ourselves and admit we are sinners.
I’m guilty of being a Christian!
If you want to change the world, truly be a Christian in fact and not merely in name.
I’m going to see Jesus!!!
Do we use the beautiful things of earth to grow closer to God, or do we use God to obtain the beautiful things of earth?
“I’m a sinner!” – good for you!
An authentic encounter with God makes us immediately see our sinfulness, but it also let’s God redeem us!
